Archery was first practised for hunting. Nowadays it is a leisure activity for some people and a sport for others, practised by men, women and children alike. It is a skilful, entertaining and non-violent sport.

Since 1972, archery has been reintroduced as an Olympic Sport. Archery is a sport that involves concentration, requiring accuracy, discipline and rigour.

SOFTARCHERY enables you to discover this sport in a limited space at home, either on your own or as a family.

At an archery club, with shooting distances of 18 m on an indoor range or 30 m, 50 m and 70 m outside. The size of the target faces varies according to the shooting distance.

You can also play other variants, such as bowhunting (in the countryside, on animal targets), field archery (an archery field campaign) or 3D archery.

There are many variants of archery, depending on the country or regional custom, such as pole archery, king's archery and golf archery, etc.

Indoor archery ranges have shooting distances of 18 m, with two rounds consisting of 10 ends of 3 arrows onto size 40 target faces.

Outdoor archery is divided into several variants: federal archery, over 30 m and 50 m using size 80 target faces, with 12 ends of 3 arrows over each distance; FITA Olympic archery over 30 m and 50 m using a size 80 target face, and two rounds over 70 m using a size 122 target face, with 12 ends of 3 arrows over each distance.

The target faces for these types of archery are divided into 5 zones: Yellow (10 and 9), Red (8 and 7), Blue (6 and 5), Black (4 and 3) and White (2 and 1).

Field archery and bowhunting over distances of between 6 and 60 metres. Classification grades are allocated according to your archery equipment, classic or cable-backed bow, with or without a viewfinder, etc.

Archery using 3D targets is increasingly valued by archers, because of the concept itself and because this variant is being understood.
