Rules of petanque:

Where can you play? Wherever you find a patch of sandy ground: garden, path, beach, park, wood, public square, dedicated area for playing bowls, etc.

Equipment: 1 jack, known as a "cochonnet"
1 set of bowls

How many players?
1 a-side => 3 bowls per player
2 a-side => 3 bowls per player
3 a-side => 2 bowls per player

Aim of the game: To place your bowls closer to the jack that those of your opponent
